ahh… homework…

neener neener neener!

first day of school and this is what i spent this morning and this afternoon looking at!

20 minutes in line at caroline’s school just to get to the line at front entrance.  the drop off/pick up point is in the same place for boys (wootage) and there were THREE of these lines there, so that took twice as long.  and here i thought i was going to be early at the boys’ schools.

today was the annual school carnival at the school… always fun for the kids   this year’s theme was Meet the Flinstones.  all the teachers were dressed up in bedrock fashion and the gym was set up with various “booth games” where they spend tickets to play and receive “win” tickets and a prize.  the “win” tickets get turned in to the prize booth for more prizes – little spin tops, airplanes, plastic frogs, rings, kazoos, etc.  they had the firehouse and the sheriff’s department out in the parking lot too.  this is one of the kids’ favorite school events

nicky’s favorite game is the duck pond, due to it’s instant gratification prize buckets.  it’s one ticket per duck and each duck has a number on the bottom.  the number on the bottom determines which bucket you get a prize from.

the other two loved the golfing, mostly i think because nicky’s teacher and aid were running the booth, lol.  they were pretty free with the “win” tickets, hehe.

after all was said and done, they each got a snow cone and a small butt-load of crap from the prize booth – everything from mardi gras type necklaces to mini notepads to kazoos to little plastic hair clips to fake paper money… lol.
