caroline had a field trip today to Ash Canyon to go gold mining! she was oober excited about it … i heard about it every day for over a week, lol. unfortunately, she didn’t find any gold
we went thru like 5 buckets of dirt, too, lol. not all of the kids found gold, but some of the kids did find little teeny tiny flakes (her classmate in the orange did) that they got to take home in a little teeny tiny vial. it was fun tho. she came home with quartz instead
from what i understand these folks have owned this claim for years and years and years… they knew where to send us to dig, it was just a matter of digging up the right dirt and getting lucky, lol.

field trip to the San Pedro & Coronado National Park today. the kids learned about the Zuni Indians and the Spanish that came thru here with Coronado…
this is the San Pedro right now… pretty skimpy, lol. come monsoon season tho, it will look like a real river again
after all that, i signed the kids out of school early and we ended up at mcdonald’s for dinner….
she’s crouching down because she saw her teacher walk in the door… hehehehe!
