they came they came they came!  i ordered an intercom system a few days ago and they got delivered this morning

the bookshelf that i ordered for the playroom came today, but the kick board is broken   so i had to order a replacement part.  sigh.  i think this is the first time i’ve ever had to order a replacement part for anything!

went to walmart today to do the school supply shopping.  after we got that done, we went looking thru the men’s cheapo t-shirt cubbies.  got this one for nick, but i don’t think he’ll wear it b/c it’s black.  he doesn’t like black t-shirts….  woot!  a new shirt for me! lol!

today was oober exciting and fun!  i got to meet Jenn (owner of Inspiration-Lane) all up close and personal-like   she’s in Phoenix (only 3 hours away) this week dog-sitting for her sister-in-law, so the kids and i went to visit her!  lord knows we’ll probably never be this close again, so it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.  the kids went swimming in the pool, we went to chili’s to eat, and then i took her souvenir shopping for the family.  the first shop we went to had these really kewlio gawdy chickens, lol!

JD got a scorpion paper weight, roo & nicky both got a necklace with feathers on it.  i got a ring, and jenn bought me a leather bracelet with a dolphin on it – despite protests, lol.  i also got a little something for jonathon and jordan   the second shop we went to she found all kinds of things to get for her kids, but i’m not going to list them out – i don’t want to ruin the surprise.  suffice it to say that i told her i wanted a phone call and/or pictures of the kids’ reactions to their gifts, LOL  JD ended up with a blinky-name key chain, nicky got a sheriff’s badge with his name on it, and caroline got a beaded bracelet with her name on it.

we had a great time with her – she’s just as nice in person as she is on the phone, and so fun to hang with!  we were sad when we had to leave and come back home   once we get to GA we’ll be about 7 hours apart so maybe, just maybe, we can get another visit in

with the pimping of the new truck in progress, i found a really good deal on seat covers for the front seats of my car – i really wanted the Ed Hardy awesome-ness with the skull and pink and black BUT, for the price of one of the Ed Hardy covers i got 2 panther ones plus matching steering wheel cover (which i’ve decided i don’t like because it’s not form fitting and totally annoying…) and a matching CD visor holder thingy (which is now in the nissan b/c i already have 2 in the car )

so anyway.  my new skins on the front seats… 

a new era.

no more PITA dodge truck.

nick had a doc appt in tucson for his shoulder so essentially took the day off.  when we got back in town i had him stop at the car lot to take a look at the truck from earlier this week (he had up to that point only seen photos of it).  after a little more haggling, i signed a check and we now own it!

another vehicle shot down…  even tho i brought the guy down almost 2 grand off sticker.

le sigh.

more car shopping…  i really liked this one…  i think he sold it last night before nick got home from work tho   i called the guy after i got home to get the VIN # to do a carfax report and he said he had somebody dealing on the car in his office.  bummer!

car shopping.  the most annoying thing on the planet.  we’re trying to find a car for nick to replace the slowly failing truck.  i spent most of the morning going thru car lots looking for something in our price range.  the kids “helped”… with “we should get daddy this one!”

i pretty much got a “meh” from nick on both of these..
